I Brought My Six Year Old To A Tattoo Shop

By | 2017-08-10T08:08:27+00:00 August 1st, 2017|Days Out|

For the past several weeks, my mini-me has been asking to get her ears pierced. She's a persistent little thing and usually doesn't ask for something unless she's really thought it through. I wanted to make sure she knew exactly what to expect, so we talked through the ENTIRE process [...]

June 2015 Recap

By | 2017-02-22T17:51:28+00:00 October 12th, 2015|Days Out|

While all our American friends were kicking off summer break, we were still in full swing with school, festivals, and end-of-year festivities. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the British schedule where the last day of school comes at the end of July but having completed a full year now, I definitely see it's advantages.

An alternate title for this post might be something along the lines of "Little Girls' Brains Explode from Sheer Excitement and Delight." 17th of May London (again)

By | 2017-02-10T17:01:01+00:00 September 14th, 2015|Days Out, Personal|

Big Laila came to visit again and she timed her trip to coincide with the most Norwegian of all days, Syttende Mai. Not wanting to let an opportunity go to waste, my mom took it upon herself to create a folkebunad for Lena to wear to the festivities.

Wanting to make the most out of her two week stay, we decided to take a little road trip while my mom was visiting. We settled on Bath as our ultimate destination with a stop in the village of Lacock on our way there. The entire village is a National [...]

Antiques and Tea in Ely

By | 2017-03-02T13:36:58+00:00 March 16th, 2015|Days Out, Personal|

With big L in town, I thought it would be fun to spend a day in the nearby town of Ely. Knowing her penchant for copper kettles and porcelain dishware, a stop at Waterside Antiques was in order. With three floors packed full of treasures just waiting to be discovered, [...]

Chester Zoo

As a belated third birthday celebration, we took Lena to the Chester Zoo in Northern England. They claim the title of Number 1 Zoo in the UK and there is also a BBC drama currently being filmed about the history of it's founder, George Mottershead.
